A Family Heritage of Service
Back in the early 1920s, when a person died, the service was conducted at home. And most funeral directors had more than one line of work, such as carpentry, furniture, or cabinet making. It was at this time that Thomas F. Dalton began serving the families of Floral Park as a full-time funeral director from a storefront office at 41 Atlantic Avenue.
Four years later, in 1928, he moved the firm to 29 Atlantic, where the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home has remained ever since
a landmark structure in the community.
Over the years, families welcomed the Daltons caring, compassionate service in their time of need. New chapels were opened in New Hyde Park, Williston Park, Hicksville, and Levittown.
Thomas son, George, joined his father in 1947, and in 1953, Thomas F. Dalton, Jr. joined the family business. At that time, both sons assumed responsibility for operating the firm. Georges son, Timothy, and Thomas Jr.s daughter, Beth, joined the family business in 1977 and 1983, respectively. Today, with five convenient chapel locations, the Dalton heritage of service and commitment to the community is available to all the families of Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, and the greater NY metro area.
Over the generations, the commitment to the heritage of Thomas F. Dalton has never changed - providing the utmost in caring, personal service to the families of our area. Thats why we continue to be the most preferred funeral establishment in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, and the greater NY metro area.
